The CPWD land was earlier designated for the expansion of the Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Mother and Child Care Hospital. For the rehabilitation of the jhuggi dwellers here, the hospital, through the ministry of housing and urban affairs (MoHUA), earlier approached DDA to make housing available.
